Process

Here’s how it works: 

1. A teacher records himself or herself teaching a lesson in class.  

2. A recording of the class is shared with a veteran teacher at The Classical Teaching Institute.   

3. The veteran teacher views the recording, makes notes, and schedules a Zoom call with the teacher.  

4. The two teachers meet for forty minutes via Zoom to discuss the lesson.

A coaching call with a veteran teacher can boost the confidence of a young teacher, restore joy to the classroom, and help students get more out of class time.   

During a coaching call, the veteran teacher will give a less experienced teacher practical feedback on ways of incorporating classical pedagogy into future lessons. Young teachers will hear about what worked and what didn’t. They will get individualized advice on classroom management, lecture, Socratic dialogue, and assessment.

When the coaching call is finished, young teachers will have a clear picture of what they need to continue doing, what they need to do differently—and how to do it right.
