Onsite Teacher Training

2026-27 Dates Available

Teacher Training Session

If you’re tired of bringing in consultants who give your faculty inspirational speeches but very little actionable advice, then a TCTI Onsite Teacher Training Event is what you’re looking for.

During the course of a one- or two-day Onsite Teacher Training event, director Joshua Gibbs will come to your school and lead your faculty through a series of lessons that demonstrate classical pedagogy through the teaching of classic texts.

For about the cost of sending three teachers to a summer conference, you can host a TCTI event on your campus for your entire faculty—and even invite all the teachers from neighboring classical schools to join you.

Two Reasons to Consider Onsite Training

  1. The cost of TCTI Onsite Teacher Training is based on a daily fee, which means you can have as many lectures as you'd like during that day. Lectures for students, faculty, parents—even fundraisers in the evening. If you are including a fundraiser, The Classical Teaching Institute can also promote the event on our social media channels.

  2. The content of the training offered at your school is based on your needs and preferences. When planning an event, the first question you will be asked is, "What do your people want or need to hear about?" Talks and lectures will then be curated for your school.

Examples of What Onsite Training Can Offer

  • Demonstration of all the pedagogical tools open to a humanities teacher: lecture, assessment, Socratic discussion (and other kinds of discussions), personal stories which illustrate the truths of class texts, dynamic reading, and more.

  • Demonstration of how to introduce a book to students and to slowly move students through a classic text, day by day.

  • Demonstration of how to assess a student’s understanding of a classic text.

  • An experience of learning for your faculty that is similar to the kind of learning that they want their students to experience.
